These French inspired wedding invitations were first dreamed up when a planner from Dubai contacted me with a plan to visit a chateau in the south of France.

Irresistible French Style Wedding Invitations

Upon viewing the French inspired wedding invitations design brief, I was instantly-besotted. The colour palette of calm blues, paired with gentle cream and rich gold was simple yet incredibly stylish.  I had to tie in an influence of a vintage, antique bee design and a gold hand painted motif and could add all the intricate details I desired. Alongside those details, I was given complete creative freedom within the colour palette and I was off. That’s what I love it when clients suggest very specific design details, or have their chosen aesthetic all ready to go. It is so much easier to hit the ground running when mood boards, colour schemes and a design direction have been finalised.

Are French inspired wedding invitations popular?

Yes they are! In fact this one design is one of my most popular and a top seller. Clients like to tweak this French inspired design with their own little twist here and there. In the end, this French style invitation stationery will stand the test of time and be one of those classical wedding invitation suites that clients will always be attracted to.

To add some extra drama, I focus on black and gold for the main invitation. To compliment it beautifully, I hand painted a light beige – brown paper with some pale blue leaves and finished it off with some gold wax. More than anything, I am obsessed with hand painted surfaces. The swirls of paint and texture that you can bring to life upon a piece of paper, really adds an entirely unique twist to what would otherwise be a flat printed wedding stationery suite.

The most notable and favourite part of this suite is certainly the menu design. I adore the deep swirls of vibrant blue watercolour coupled with rich tarnished gold calligraphy. This menu design would be perfect in calligraphy, for any small intimate part in France.
