I want to start my review by saying that Rubana is one of the loveliest people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. From our first messages, I felt more like I was having a conversation with a friend rather than discussing business. Rubana’s kindness, warmth, and genuine vulnerability have permeated into her entire business model to create what I believe to be a one-of-a-kind experience and the height of luxury.
I hired her to help me with some rebranding for my wedding planning business, and I could not have made a better decision. I first saw Rubana’s work when it was shared by a fellow wedding planner who I deeply admire. I am rarely drawn to stationery designs, but something about this work was distinct. I was immediately entranced, and I don’t use that word lightly – Rubana is, to date, the only stationery designer I have ever followed on Instagram. These aren’t wedding invitations that have been thrown together, but works of art. This was clear from day one, and I’m only more impressed with her work the longer I follow along.
Not long after I first saw her work, I had decided to start a major rebranding process. As I was researching logo designs, I kept coming up empty. Nothing felt authentic to me or my brand. But then a lightbulb went off. Rubana’s art style was the perfect fit. While she didn’t explicitly advertise logo designs, I knew she was the only artist for the job. I decided to reach out to her with a brief message on Instagram, and that was the start of one of the best investments I’ve ever made.
Here’s why:
- 1. Rubana has high standards. In her actual work, in her correspondence, in her client relationships, and in every single aspect of her business it’s clear that Rubana strives for excellence 24/7.
- 2. Rubana sets clear expectations from day one, and follows through on every promise she makes from design details to delivery timeframes.
- 3. Rubana takes the time to fully understand what her clients want. The bit of homework she had me do set both of us up for success by giving her the necessary information to create something I would love.
- 4. Rubana’s design process is easy and is built on trust. As the client, I felt I could step away and let her have a large amount of creative control while maintaining my vision and brand aesthetic.
- 5. Rubana puts love into her work. It’s such a hard thing to describe. The only way I understand it is that you can’t separate the quality of art from the artist.
The kindness, warmth, and vulnerability that I previously mentioned aren’t only part of Rubana’s business practices, but I see them in her art. I cannot say enough good things about Rubana. 5 stars is not enough. 20 stars wouldn’t be enough if that was an option. Please do not think twice about hiring this insanely talented artist. The investment is worth it ten times over.
